I SUPPORT THE 2ND AMENDMENT
The Constitution of The United States is clear – the right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental right of each and every American. No citizen should be deprived of this right without having been convicted of a weapons related felony. As an endowment member of the NRA, I strongly support our right to keep and bear arms.
I AM PRO-LIFE
I believe that life begins at conception and abortion should NEVER be used as a method of birth control. In cases where a mother’s life is endangered by further continuing a pregnancy, I recognize that saving one life over another is a very complex moral and ethical issue, and one that must be taken on a case-by-case basis with the appropriate counsel of certified medical personnel.
In cases where rape or incest has led to a pregnancy, I do not believe it is the place of the government to dictate to a woman, who has not willingly engaged in the conception of the child, how she must act. I especially feel this way if the woman is a minor. There are very painful and difficult moral, ethical, psychological, and perhaps physical, complexities involved in such situations.
AS YOUR CONGRESSMAN, I WILL WORK TO:
- Safeguard our National Security
We must properly fund our military and provide them with the best training and weapons to available to ensure that those who protect our freedom and safety are in turn kept as safe as possible. We must do all that we can to ensure that no person enters this country without being properly screened and vetted.
- Destroy Radical Islam
The fight to contain and destroy radical Islam must be a priority of our military, our intelligence community and our partner nations throughout the world. We must work towards forming a coordinated world-wide effort to remove the threat of radical Islam from our civilizations and way of life. The tragedies seen in Paris, San Bernardino, Tunisia and Brussels prove that we cannot negotiate with terrorists and we must eradicate this scourge.
- Provide Opportunity
We must remove the crushing burden of overregulation and heavy taxation from not only our district, but for all districts in this great nation. The bureaucratic and regulatory environment seen in government today is crushing small businesses and destroying industries- this must end.
- Focus on real jobs and growth and eliminate runaway taxation and regulation
This task is heavy, but by focusing on reducing corporate tax rates, repealing and replacing Obamacare, and reigning in the EPA, we can begin to utilize our energy resources and manufacturing capabilities to build real and lasting jobs. We can work to partner with the private industry to repair and rebuild our crumbling infrastructure and provide support for a 21st century business environment.
We must reduce the corporate tax rate, encourage capital investment, repeal the “death tax” and provide for a fairer and more personal tax structure. This will allow American citizens to earn more money and to keep more of it.
